Dana 44

Hi,

I'm looking for a thirdgen Dana 44. Doesn't have to be in perfect condition. At lease rebuildable condition.

I am willing to pay a nice price for such a rare piece.

John

False. The 9 bolt is totally different than the D44. Do some googling for more info.

Re: Dana 44

if someone has a dana 44 in the back I would like to see a picture of that. The only rear gm ever put under an f body is 2 different gm rears and the borg warner rear. if someone has a dana i have to see this.

They were over the counter upgrades when customers broke their 9 bolts. You could also buy them outright from GM for in the neighborhood of 1200-1500 dollars. The price climbed as supply diminished. At the end SLP bought out all of GMs inventory and sold it for profit.

This was the rear end that found its way into every single third gen firehawk. It was the best the factory had to offer but not the best rearend out there for sure. Ive been hunting for one for a few years now on and off but am a bit too cheap to want to pay for shipping or pay as much as an aftermarket rear for just a strong factory rear.
