Purchased One. Got it for $35 shipped.
TunedPerformance was kind enough to let me know that any chevy from 87 i think to 92, whether it be a 305, 350,454 or tbi and tpi. As long as the ring around the middle is the correct thickness for the hold down bracket. Thanks!!
Peace
Dean

Haha, yep. The thinner one is for my 91 305 tpi, even though it came from an 87 454 tbi.
Who woulda thought?
eh, just 8 cyl hei models. why not make em all interchangeable?

Re: WTB: Working dirstributor for 90-92 hei 305tpi
Thanks homie
Its definately something with ignition or wiring.
but i tried hard wiring the pink wire to ensure it was getting constant juice, and still, it will only idle when the key is held in between Start and Run. Replaced the ignition switch, key cylinder, little gear rod and what not.
i think im just gonna reset the motor to tdc, adjust the distributor, and hope it works.
Whats the procedure for unplugging that tanish wire? like, unplug it, set to tdc, plug it in, unplug the battery??then reconnect the battery?and im good? or is it different?
Thanks

The est connecter is used to set base timing. When the endings is warm shut it down and disconnect the connecter. start the engine and set the base timing to 6 degrees advanced. Turn the engine off and reconnect. You don't have to erase the code 42 the check engine light will turn off but the code will be stored.

Re: WTB: Working dirstributor for 90-92 hei 305tpi
even if i leave it loose, start it and try to adjust it, it doesnt effect it. its def not the ignition column parts.
most likely wiring mishap, or something with the dizzy and components.
Ill reset it all and get back into it until it runs. GOT TOO!! Grand Opening of my CNC woodshop on may 1st. woot woot.
Wish me luck :-)
