86 LG4 y-pipe or upgrade options
First time 3rd gen owner here! I just got my 86 Z28 LG4 5-speed yesterday. It has a cobbled up mess of an exhaust system that I need to take care of right away. They y-pipe was hacked and welded into a really terrible full dual exhaust that is about 3" from the ground. I don't have any need to upgrade for power, etc., just to get it back to stock or close to stock. I have other cars I can race, this one is just for cruising. If I had a stock LG4 y-pipe I would start there and work my way back with stock 2-1/4" exhaust. I don't, so should I put a wanted ad for one, or is it easier to swap manifolds and get the larger HO stock y-pipe that is available and run the larger exhaust? My goal is to be back on the road as quickly as possible with as close to stock setup as possible. Thanks for any opinions!!

Looks like I already posted it in the Wanted section!! That was meant for the discussion area.

Since you are already replacing... Replace it all with the bigger manifolds, Magnaflow ypipe and a. 3in exhaust. The LG4 is strangled from the factory and will benefit from a free flowing setup. I wouldn't spend a dime on anything less than a 3in system
