how good are autozone replacment engines

How good are the autozone replacemnet engines they sell? what are the pros and cons? autozone claims 245 hp on a 350 roller motor are they BS ing us on this.

Yes, they suck. I was told by the manager they were made by 6 different makers. So your chances of getting a good one are probably more like 1 in 6. I don't know if you have ADVANCED AUTO PARTS in you area. I'm in Indiana. You're in Ohio so I don't know. But they have ones that are made by Recon.

My dad got a rebuilt 302 from Napa for our 83 Lincoln and he was told everything for napa was made by AC Delco. This seems to be true since there were some AC Delco parts the build sheet.

I work for Advance Auto Parts....we DO use Recon for our engine rebuilding. I've heard of one complaint since I have worked there....
