Cam choice?!
Cam choice?!
Hey guys, I was wondering if the GM, PN number kit 12480002 (HOT Cam) would fit into my 1989 350 4 bolts casting # 638.
The block originally came roller.
Heads are casting #083 (Hi-Flow heads from 300 hp GM crate engines). They care cast iron and I believe that they have 3/8 studs with 1.5 rocker ratio.
Can I upgrade to 1.6 roller rockers without changing the studs?? I believe they will not clear the valve covers either...
What mods will I have to do to the engine??
Should I simply go with with the good old ZZ4 camshaft and springs? I'm not trying to build a 10 seconds car here, just trying to have plain fun on the street (+ or - 350hp)
Help would be gladly appreciated!!

Not sure of the part number, but if thats the LT4 hot cam, yea it will fit in the block. The heads will probably need some machining of the valve guides to handle all that lift though, and more than likely will not make good use of that cam unless they have been ported.
