Hi, i'm new to this board, and I find it to be full of information (although i don't know all the technical stuff yet.)

My car is- 1990 Firebird 2 dr hatchback, 3.1 v6, 136k miles, auto

I really like my car but it deserves some more power. Whats the best engine/transmission to get? 305, 350 or even higher? I also want to put a manual transmission in.

I'm not into formal drag racing, so i don't need the absolute fastest, etc, but i want to be able to hold my own to my buddies and have some fun.

Any advice will be appreciated, thanks!

 

good high output crate 350 with a t-56 6 speed manual. That is a sweet and doable combo (~$4000 or so). I origionally wanted this but couldnt afford it.
