hey everyone, i have a 305 TBI and a 700R4 trans in my 89 RS and im looking at either picking up a 383 stroker or building a beefy 350 (either way i want between 350 and 400 hp. i was wondering which would be a better buy for everyday driving but still be able to open a sizeable can of whoop *** on any other 3rd gen in my town. and also if id have to get a cowl hood or any other different parts when i get the engine. thanks

I'm actually pricing out the cost of a stroker kit vs. a stock 350 buildup right now, so I'll PM you about it, if you like. It kinda depends on what you've got to work with- if you've got a 350 crank, you wouldn't have to buy a new one for a 350, but you'd need one for the 383, so the cost will be different in that regard. On the other hand, if you've only got a 350 block, you may as well go 383, because the difference will be negligible.
