What if you had a complete 1998 Vette as a parts car?

I can get my hands on a completes 1998 vette. It is wrecked but all the drivetrain and interior is good. What can I use? and what should I use? Can I use everything under the hood? or would I just need to put in the motor and tranny? Also what about the rear end and brake components? Let me know what I could use easily.

Also What would everyone do if they had a 1992 1LE and you had this vette for a parts car? Would you tear your rare 1LE apart and turn it into a vette in Camaro clothing or buy another Camaro to use? My car is a 1992 1LE Z-28. It has leather interior a tpi 305 and 5 speed. and power windows and a factory CD player. And it is A/C delete. And of course all the 1LE performance options. I am told that only 705 1LE were made in 1992 and only 28 with the same options as mine. I bought it from the original owner and he had all the records for it and about 8-12 magazines with articles about the 1LE and 1 magazine with a 3 pics and breif article about my car (Only two paragraphs) The car today only has 80,000 miles on it. So I really dont want to tear it apart.

I have thought about it and friend and I are going to put the vette in my garage and cut it up and just keep the key components. Like the engine transmission rear end and then the wheels and tires and the seats stuff like that. I figure that I can sell all the stuff on Ebay or around hear make about 5000 dollars. The vette is my grandpas and he lost it in a hit and run. Well, the insurance compaany made a mistake and let him but it back for only 300 dollars they noticed it in about 3 hours and my grandpa told them to F%#$ off.

How much you want for the dash and center console?
I would love to slap it into my 86 Trans Am.
Actually, email me about the entire interior, I was sitting in a 02 Z06 last night at the drag strip and it just felt cool as ****.

Oh, I'd leave your car as-is and get a donor car for the drivetrain swap.

I second the donor car... you need something like an 82 firebird or camaro. Preferably brown and rusty. Swap that LS1 in there, drill a hole in the muffler and JB weld a tube there.. run the tube to a can of water and cruise the town!! You will have fun for WEEKS.

Zeph, you are going to end up with a 3.5 gen firemarovette arn't you!!

Dude, the last thing you should ever do to that car is change anything. There are very few 1992 1LEs (you say 28 with your options). Don't touch it. Save all the parts you want, and then swap them into another fbody. Don't hackup the 1LE, whatever you do.

defiantly put that into a donor car, cuase those 1LE's are collectors... Don't make them even more rare, then the other 27 guys cars would be worth more... bet ya didn't think about that, did ya?

Since you have such a rare car, I say preserve it and find a clean thirdgen body to do the swap. You don't need an engine or tranny. Just find a non-running donor with a straight body and perform the swap in that. Should be able to find a car like that for only a few hundred dollars. One thing to think about is that it will be MUCH easier to take a 4th-gen f-body rear and swap that in than it will be to adapt the Corvette's IRS to the camaro. Granted if you are able to adapt the IRS to the camaro, you'd have one hell of an autocross/ road racer, and major props from all your car crafting buddies.
