swap kits?
swap kits?
i know it is very hard to swap a v6 to v8 in thirdgens. but...on copart there is a 91? rs convertable that looks sweet, but it has the 3.1 v6
i have read over and over on here that the best way to go is to get the motor mounts off of a parts car or something. but i was wondering if anyone at all made a 3.1 to small block swap kit for thirdgens? if not what would be the best way to go about this. i realy like this car as its the only dark green with a black convertable top ive seen. well thanks for ur help.

It's not so much the motor mounts, but all the parts you need that are different between a V6 and V8 car. You could probably buy them all seperately, but the cost would be more than just getting a wrecked or rusted out donor car. Transmissions are different, radiators, fuel lines, hoses, harnesses, cables - the list goes on and on and includes everything that attaches to or feeds the engine.
Generally, the most economic route is to just get a factory V8 car. But, if there is something unique about the particular V6 car you're considering, then the best bet is to find a factory V8 donor car that is similar to the model and year you have with the equipment (such as TPI) that you want. For instance, you wouldn't want to get an '83 Firebird donor car for a '91 Camaro receptor car - just too many of the "supporting cast" parts would be different from what you want or what will work with the '91.
