i have the ramjet in my car. awesome engine lots of power. i can bearly keep from spinning my tires. when i first got the engine it was a pig on gas the it broke in and i usually go about 4 days till i have to fill up again. thats when i dont mash the pedal to the floor. also this motor in no way will pass emissions. unless u get the o2 sensor kit from arizona speed and marine. but i have gone without it . if you do get it good luck its a great engine. i have gotten alot of complements.

awesome, thats great. The best deal ive found for the engine is in Dallas, they want $4500 at a chevy dealer. Is that a good price? Do I need any special accesories? Ive got the 700R4 also. Its broken right now, about to get it rebuilt. Will the tranny and rear end be ok with 400pounds of tq? Im really excited about the engine. Will my Headmen Headers work that I currently have on my 305? Any and all advice would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks Jimmy

thats a good price. as for accessories. ur pretty much good to go. u have to get a torque convertor lockup kit from painless or somewhere else because the ramjet ecm has no output for it. as for the tranny get it built up with strong parts. corvett. servo. and extra clutches. i got mine built in louisiana. from a place called the transmission center. its great i needa run a bigger trans cooler though. also build up ur rear-end. i still have a six banger rear-end and its holding so a built v-8 rear should do. also when the motor goes in u have to take out the oil pan that comes with it because its a truck pan. use your oil pan that u have it should work. good luck with the swap. hope you have as much fun with it as i do with mine

SFC? really, is it that much tq that it will twist the frame? Wow. Yeah, i need to upgrade the rear end a little, its a nonposi, (onewheel spin) Where is the site for the tq converter lock up item. I really apprecate your help. What about fuel pump, what kind do you have. It will be a daily driver car, but I also autocross, so just haveing those extra SFC and strut brace would help there too

There is a guy I go autocrossing with down here, named George, He owns his own tranny shop. He'll probable be doing the work on my car, now when it comes to tq coverter lock up kits, Ive found two, which is the better choise?

Got a question about that motor. Since it was originally intended for marine use (not a bad thing), does the block have provisions for the oil dipstick on both sides like my marine motor (not Ram Jet) did and one was just plugged?

When GMHTP swapped it in their 92 Camaro Z28 they decked it all out with everything and they could only pull a 13.0 I wasn't that impressed with it after that for how much money it costs.

i have the first tc lock-up kit by painless. actually gmhtp did not deck that motor out. they just dropped it in with all the stock components except for the exhaust. the exhausst was headers ypiped and into a a high flow cat 3" i believe. i forget what muffler they used but. it certainly was not decked out. it was as is.

Hey even if i got a 13sec car, id be pretty happy. My best time in my 305 TBI has been 16.6. When yall say decked out, what more can you do besides the headers. I thought that with the limited computer it comes with, you really couldnt change anything on the engine.

thats why i dont understand why 91 bird said it was decked out. as for not doin anythin to the engine you can but it comes at a price. you have to send the ecm to arizona speed and marine. they are the only ones that i know that can reprogram that computer

In fact, a built six banger rear-end would be just as strong as a built V8 rear, since there is no difference between the two.
