i have an 89 RS 305 TBI with the stock tranny, im dropping in a custom made 350 with 350-375 hp. will the stock tranny be enough to support that engine?

It'll last for a little while. How many miles on the stock tranny? Does it still shift firm, or is it a little sloppy? In my experience 100,000 mile tranny behind a 300 horse engine that isn't shifting exactly right will last about 5 WOT passes and then bye bye 3rd gear clutch pack.

well the odometer has about 136,000 but ive only been the owner of the car since march so i dont know if it has had the tranny rebuilt somewhere along the line or not. but as far as shifting there is a little slop, but for the most part its not bad. but i will most likely run it until it takes a dump and then rebuild it to high performance specs

Just make sure that when if dumps you aren't out in the middle of nowhere. I had to cruise home at 4 grand in 2nd gear. That sucks. I got my whole tranny done for performance for about $1300.
