alt doesn't clear valve cover help!!
ok guys i went to put my alt. on my new 350 and i have the signature series edelbrock valve covers and the damn batt. terminal on the back of the alt. hits the valve cover. i'm using the brackets off of my 89 bird. does any1 know wut i can do here cause i really don't wunt to have them ugly 305 valvecovers on. my head can take center bolt or perimiter style valve covers and i have chrome center bolts but they are cheap mr. gasket ones and don't loot good in my opinion. well anyways if u can help please do, thanks

Get some other valve covers that actually fit the motor, like GM ones maybe.
Persinally I hate wasting any money on those; I've never had a set that noticeably affected how fast my car was. I run stock ones whenever possible.

What about removing the 3 bolts that hold the 2 halves of the alternator together and turn them so the BAT terminal is in a slightly different place as compared to the front bit? I have just done this with mine! I had to slightly alter the wiring to reach though.

well my dad just cut the terminal down and soldered the wire to it and it works great. yea i tried that but then the bracket that goes to the first header bolt wouldn't work, well all is good now, all i have to do is put my passenger side header and y-pipe on and i can start it up. well that and put antifreeze in it. thanks for the suggestions guys
