wat will i gotta do with tannsmission and all? to actuly make the car run? and pass inspection in missouri?

We don't know what year of car you have and what V8 you are planning to install.My son and I are nearly finished a 2.8 V6 to 305 4 barrel swap in an '82 Berlinetta.First off, you mention the transmission.Ours was a 3 spd automatic.The 305 will not fit the V6 tranny.You need a tranny from a V8.We got our motor complete with TH350 tranny from an '81 Belinetta.You need motor mount brackets,exhaust manifolds and Y-pipe,radiator,all the accessory brackets etc.etc.etc.We had an '84 Z28 V8 5spd car as a donor as well as the '81.We even swapped the front springs and sway bar from the '84 Z28 as well as adding the rear sway bar to our '82 Berlinetta.Don't even attempt this swap without a donor car.We also had to splice in the fuel lines from the '84 Z28 and route them up the proper side of the car as the V8 fuel pump is on the paasenger side.You'll spend hours scouring junkyards for all the "little parts".Make no mistake, this is a monster of a swap for a first timer like my son.

 

i already completed my swap from a v6 t a 305, i used a 82z28 as a donor for my 83. I have the th350 also. All i really had to do was change the motor mounts and everything fit into place. I put the tranny on the engine before i dropped it in, that made it a lot easier. I have the z28 exhaust also on there so everything just bolted into place. This was my first swap also, i never really worked on cars until now. im 22 got a garage and decied to do that. Now its time to mod the hell outta it!!
