ram jet 350 options

I was planning on buying the 502 ram jet when I get back home, but I spent more cash than I could. I can still afford to buy the 350 ram jet though. I was just wondering, is it possible to put a supercharger on there with its own cpu?

Give me some money so that i can get one from ATI! J/K Call up a place like Scoggin-Dickey and ask around. Not too many people have dealt with that motor on this board. Right now i do not know of any thirdgen sportin that motor. It would be bad *** though, even without the s/c. All it says in the description is that it comes with a pre-programmed ECM controller. good luck

i have the ramjet 350 in my 89 rs. the ecm that comes with the engine is not easily programed. i think its very possible to add a supercharger its just more air. the motor itself runs rich. so the extra air should balance out the fuel. and if u have emissions testin good luck cuz its almost impossible to get that to be emissions legal

was your car originally TBI? How was the install? Pretty straight forward? What kind of problems did you run into?

Run the ramjet intake, rails, etc with a speed density harness and computer or DFI. Nobody programs MEFI computers, but everyone loves GM 7730.

dmair5 0 i originally had the 2.8 mpfi v6 the install was pretty straight foward. needed to use iroc mounts and needed a new tranny, and accessory brackets from a v8. i reused my rear end drive shaft and even my suspension. the only problems i had was the oil pan that came with it didnt allow the ypipe to clear so the engine had to come out and an went an iroc pan. also i had to use painless wirings tranny lockup kit. because the ecm does not have an output for it

I know that AS&M programs them. We've gone through 5 of their over-the-phone chips and still running fat. Now seeking another solution to this problem...enter GM7730.

We've also talked to some Mercruiser engineers about giving us a hand. That's about all you're gonna find who can mess with these computers becides GM. They're locked by a password.

yeah know all bout that its kind of stupid how gm put a ecm thats tough to program and only certain people can play with them. they should of set it up with an easier setup. but i cant complain i love how my car performs the way it is. just have to find the right inspection station if u know what i mean

Are you running just the motor as is, or did you opt to buy, I think its the O2 sensor that id doesnt come with. I could be wrong. I know there is a sensor you can by, its like $450 for the sensor and some sorta computer, that will make it achevie beter fuel mileage. Any idea what im talking about. I researched this a while back. Wanted to just drop a replacement in, found the engine for $3200, but then I needed a tq converter lock up kit, and then a needed that expensive sensor, so i just went a different route.

yup that sensor is the o2 sensor kit. it allows oart throttle fuel adjusrtment. and you would of had to send in ur ecm to be programed to use that sensor. im just running the motor the way it came out the crate. it runs fine to me. just cant pass inspection. but i took care of that with a 50 spot to the inspector
