Would like to bump my engine over a couple of times but can't seem to make the stock 400 starter work correctly. The starter engages but will not spin the flywheel.


One problem I did have was that the rebuilt start that I purchased came without a solenoid so I swapped the solenoid from my old starter but the plunger on the 400 starter is to large for the 350 solenoid...so I swapped plungers. Could this be why the starter will engage but won't spin the flywheel?


I have all the wiring hooked up correctly I also have shimmed it.
