305 to 350 questions.
Here's the deal. I have a 305 85 Trans Am w/ a carb on it. I also have a 79 (or so) chevy pickup w/ a 350 in it. Will the accessories (alternator, power steering, exhaust manifolds, etc) fit on the engine and just go right back into the car? And will it bolt up to my transmission?
Pretty much tearing off the manifolds and brackets and swapping them.
How about it fellas? Anyone every try this? Technically, it should work just fine.....according to my experience. Which is not by any means an expert.
Thanks!

Include flex plate and sensors in you list of things to swap from 305 to 350, you've pretty much covered it. The '79 engine has the dipstick on the passenger side, correct?
This is understanding, of course, that the '79-era SBC's from the factory were pretty lame. Poor cam, poor heads (the 305 heads are better), low compression, etc. But, at least the block is a good foundation for a performance engine.
