Got calculated dyno numbers! Check it out>
Well, I have been waiting to post this, so her it is.
I have been talking about my 383 stroker swap and it's almost over!
The motor actually came out to be a 388 (we had to bore it over .060). The motor will be ready to get a real dyno actual next week. This is all the details plugged into the desk top dyno, this thing usally comes real close give or take 10-30 HP. Close enough to get a good idea of what your set up will push out. Anyway, I was bored and wanted to let everyone check it out and give your imput on the set up.
Some details first:
388ci 4 bolts mains
Pro Top Line Lightning aluminum heads
220cc
Intake valve 2.020 Exhaust valve 1.600
Max valve flow @ 28" of water: .700 = 282.08
1.5 roller rockers
SRP 10.5:1 forged flat top pitsons
6" rods
Forged crank
Dart aluminum air gap intake (single plane)
Holley 750 carb DP
Mallory pro wires 8mm
Rapid fire plugs
Mallory HEI
Crane Cam (282 duration, 0.525 valve int/exh)
Large full leangth headers with open exhaust (flowmaster stage 1 circle track mufflers)
Max HP: 488 @ 6,000 RPM
Max TQ: 481 @ 4,500 RPM
Nice shift point at 6,00o PRM, should run like a bat out of hell!
Anyway, tell me what you think and I will compare these numbers to the actual next week.
PS Anyone know of a header that will bolt up to the aftermarket heads like dart or AFR besides hooker super comp? Prices?
Thanks

Forgot to say that if these numbers are right I am going to be a little disapointed. Now, 488 HP is not bad at all, plenty enough to get my buggy scooting...
However, I was hopping for over 500 and close to 550. Oh well, live to fight another day. Listed below is 3 key issues why I am not hitting my desired HP.
1) Cam specs: I could have gotten a little bigger cam, but the guy at the shop tells me this is a perfect match.
2) Compression ratio: I wanted to run pump gas, so I could not really go over 10.5:1, going with a higher ratio would have produced some extra ponies. With the heads and pistons the machine shop guy said this set up will push my comp ratio up around 11:1, so that is not bad... Hope I don't start pinging with 93 octane???
3) Real issue HEAD PORTING: I ran out of money to finish the motor like it should have been done. I have more money but want to whole car ready in the next few months because then my pocket will dry up. It was an extra $500 to get the intake and heads matched and fully stage 3 ported, which would have gave me the 550 HP I wanted. Well, I can still do that in the future, after I break the motor in and before I race.
So, I could have made my goal, but money prevailed.
Still, 488 HP should alone get me into the 12's easy (with the rest of my mods coming). Now, top that off with a fat shot of NOS (200-275) and I should be able to see low 11's maybe high 10's if I can hook up good.
Any comments?
