305 to 350 or 383
in the near future...(when i get some money and a job)...i was thinking to replace my engine. right now in my 87 sport coupe i have a 305. what major changes would i have to do to put in a 350? and what major changes would i have to do to put in a 383? thanks for the help

In a word, "none".
That is, none that you wouldn't have to do to wake up that 305.
Take a look at the magazine articles on this board, the two with "Stroke in the Desert" in the titles. Steve Green documents how he put a 383 into his 'Bird.
The things that have to change are exhaust, ignition, and aircleaner. This assumes you do the cam & heads right when you put the 350 or 383 together. With a 383, you need to deal with balancing - externally balanced flex plate & harmonic damper, unless you spend the bucks to get an internally balanced crank.
