here are the specs. these numbers are from desk top dyno 2000. with the the stock 441 casting heads:

308hp @ 4000rpm
442 torque @ 2500rpm

the only reason im going with the stock castings is because im doing this on a budget. next winter i will most likely be putting aluminum heads on. the numbers with aluminum heads are:

399hp @ 5000rpm
458 lb ft torque @ 3000rpm.

oh yeah im using my performer intake manifold that i have already with my carb.

Nice... but thinking you should get more power out of a 400. Putting a 412 Pontiac in my 87 and looking at a little over 500 horse with about 480 lbs torque

yeah yor right but i don't have that much money to spend. it will definately be a noticable difference (considering its a 5 speed manual with 373s). its also a mild build up. its got just alittle under 10 to 1 comp. ratio. i wanted it to be a good reliable street motor. i plan on starting to rip my car apart next weekend. i'll keep you guys posted on how things go.

i have never heard of Pemberton. i live in franklin lakes which is by oakland, wycoff, ramsey, ridgewood, fairlawn.

thats nice! should be nice power, and a nice base to work off of, lots of potential with a 400. did you get the motor out of a truck? all stock with stock cam and eveything? not bad at all imo.

yeah, i don't expect that trans to hold up for a long time. once i get the money i plan on a 6-speed. we will see about that when i get to that point.

i think the motor came out of a caprice or impala(1971)
