CC LG4 to non-CC crate 350
CC LG4 to non-CC crate 350
I have a '86 Trans Am with the LG4. It has almost 140,000 miles on it and the engine is on its way out thanks to the high school girl who drove it for four years before I got the car
I'm interested in getting the GM Performance Parts 350 HO crate engine to replace my LG4.
Rather than start a discussion on the merits of any particular engine, my question is what I would need in order for all of my guages and other electronics to function properly after getting rid of the computer controlled setup.

Use the same gage wiring your current engine uses (engine temp, oil pressure, tach, alternator).
For the TCC lock-up (assuming you have auto tranny), get a lock-up kit from Summit/Jegs/TCI.
Of course, I'd recommend you stay CC, especially if a daily driver, but you didn't ask...
