Ditching 5.0 for a performance 350

I am getting a great deal on a 350 bored .060 w/ cam, heads, intake and more to put in my stock RS 305... but I would like to know if i am going to need to replace my transmission... im putting in a shift kit and POSI rear.... am I going 2 run into trans problems?... any advice is good advice

If you have an auto tranny then it should bolt right up, if the tranny has alot of miles on it and the 350 has a fair amount of hp/tq then you might end up rebuilding the tranny, it all depends on the condition of the tranny and how strong the motor is.

its at 71,8** miles... w/ a new torque converter, B&M shift kit and new posi rear is my tranny gonna last?

it should last awhile.... depends on what kinda abuse its going to see..

sounds like a good setup your going to have.. good luck

just curious did you already purchase/install the b&m shift kit, some have had some problems with it, and some haven't. you might wanna run a search on it..

what type of converter did you get?

i didnt buy a converter yet... i want to have it in when i put in the new engine.... any recomendations?

You might want to ask that question in the tranny forum. From what I know it all kind of depends on the cam and the rest of the setup that you have.
