fast burn 385
fast burn 385
Anyone have any thoughts about the GM Performance Parts ''Fast Burn 385'' Crate Engine ? I got it from my parents for Christmas. I am probably going to put it in over Janurary while i am out of school. I am also going to be swaping out a new tranny and rear end. Any suggestions would be appreciated since this it the first time I have built up a motor.
Thanks,
-Kevin

You must have been a very good boy last year.
I think you got a really nice engine there and with a good warranty. If you want more power later it isn't hard to bump it up to 420hp.

Add a HOT cam, 1.6 ratio rockers and GM claims you are good for 425 horses, although the same engine, when called a ZZ430, was rated at 430 horses. I hope you thanked Mom and Dad profusely!:hail:

Well i should say so! Damn, nice grab kid. I would tell your parents that the motor will not work unless you get a Moser 12 bolt, carbon fiber driveshaft, T56, as well as an ATI blower to round things off a bit. Well, thats what was on my wish list. And i'll tell you what, my wish did not come true, surprise surprise! lol Good luck with it. Do a search around here and you will find some good combos with it. Later, oh yeah, if you really want help with it, give us some info on your car now. Like if its carb, tbi, or tpi. You will get more help if people know what type of car you have now.
