hey im looking to put a V8 into my 92firebird, v6 now is killing me, people look at my car and think there is something underthe hood when there isint.
What im interested in is a V8 I was thinking 305-350 somewhere in there.
If someone could tell me the performance differences and the gas differences that would be great.
Also if someone could direct me to a website which sells engines or maybe a rough idea as far as prices.
any help would be great.

well i don't know about the prices but if you get an engine from a junkyard its pretty cheap in the hudred dollor range, then you can rebuild it yourself i.e. replacing all gaskets, pistons, basicly everything but the block. or you could buy a new engine in the thousand dollor range
im looking to do the same thing with my 90 v6. im going for the 350:rockon: i don't know anything about the gas mileage but i figure the bigger the engine the worse the gas mileage (thats as far as i care to think about the subject). there is a BIG difference between the 305 and 350.

 

my car gets about 20 to 22 mpg...
you might as well go with a 350..
