New Project, v6-v8 Engine Combos
Im on my second build,
Rules-
I want to stay fuel injected
V6-V8 Swap
Supercharger
Im looking into the RamJet 350 as my swap, coupled with a Coan 700R4 Street Trans and a Ford 9" Rear w/ 389's
Ram Jet - http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...20-P22C53.aspx
They also sell the Ramjet intake by its self for around $1,500.
Would I be better off buying a blueprint engine w/ scat crank etc and strapping it onto that.
Blueprint - http://store.summitracing.com/partde...1&autoview=sku
Also what motor would hold up to 12psi of boost off of a D1SC Procharger better. My instinct would be going with the Ram Jet.
I would like to get some feedback, on thoughts and past projects others have completed before I dive headfirst into this one like I did my last swap.
Which entailed way to much $$$ and 3 years of fixing mistakes of parts.
Thanks

The swap is from an 87 Firebird 2.8L, also any ideas on getting wiring harnesses for either motor

The Ram Jet uses the L31 shortblock. Cast pistons.
The Blueprint engine used hypereutectic pistons.
Neither cast nor hypereutectic recommended for power adder applications.

In order of preference, forged, cast, and hypereutectic.
You might ask on the Power Adder forum. 12 psi doesn't sound really high, but it's probably worth going forged in case you want to go higher in the future.

k thanks
Blueprint makes a nice forged motor just expensive 6k, i could do it but would have to hold off on the supercharger for a while.

Also, do LOTS of measurements on that Ram Jet; I hear it doesn't fit under Firebird hoods well..
The Holley stealth ram will just fit and you have to cut some of the supports from the hood to do it...
I'm only pointing this out because when you list your car as "House of Colors Tangerine" it seems that maybe a hood swap was not anticipated...
