370 horsepower plus bf goodrich tires hmmmm....

allright i have my new engine in as most of you know by now. i put close to 700 miles on it and man is it running strong!!! very quick. anyways the only problem i have is my first gear. it seems my tires like to spin through the first 2/3 of first (im sure that has nothing to do with the new powerplant ) any ways my tires may be gone soon, they still have decent tread but this thing likes to spin like crazy at a stop, i know this question has been asked before but i know there are people on here with a similar setup. what kind of tire should i run and what are some devices that i can get to add traction. i was thinking of the mickey thompsopn indy profiles but are those street legal. and can they be run with a non-byasply tire on the front?? any help would be great. by the way i am taking the car to gainsville, fl's quarter mile next month we'll see what it can do

Whats the rear end gearing and transmission? if you may want to have a taller rear end gear (ie, 3.73 -> 3.42)

Damn chef 3.08's and still smokin the hoops..sounds good to me...lol. Ok ok..traction for the strip some nice sticky mickeys would help a ton. You already have a stall conv thats good. Maybe some 90/10 shocks for weight transfer?? Removing Anti-sway bar leaving could help as well for weight transfer. My opinion is...Sticky tires, 90/10 shocks..ditch the sway bar maybe add some traction bars??? Most of these add-ons are for the strip only so dont go down the street with 90-10 shocks and sway bar removed..might not be a pretty sight. If track traction is what you are after try those..Many other guys on this site have thoughts on this..maybe they will chip in as well...good luck

Just bought some 245-50-16 Falken Tires for the old RS. Not bad price for 4, $435. Better than $550 that Winston wanted to charge! Anyway, I like them, and the ride is GOLDEN now. L8.

You can get bolt ins, which are not all that great, and you can get weld in ones. Not too sure on the going rate for someone to weld them though. I would try the suspension board. Also, give Steve Spohn a call. Cool guy who knows what he's doing and hes not out for your cash either! And yes, easier on the gas would help i am guessing! lol good luck

try air bags in the coils, i bought them because my mufflers were hitting the ground but they increased traction quite a bit. i run mine around 20psi.

by the way, i know a guy with a bird that has nothing done to his suspension at all except the air bags and he can pull one wheel off at the track. he's got a juiced 383 and 10.5 slicks.

if what you really want is traction......new lower control arms...panhard bar....and torque arm....you'll be amazed at what a set of spohns will do
