305 to 350, digital speedometer probs.

Hi, I bought an 87 TA and put a 350 engine in it. My question is about the digital speedometer I have in it, is there something I can add to my 350 to make it digital compatible? or will I have to put a big ugly standard speedometer on my dash or something,, help!!

You had to have done something more than just replace the 305 with a 350 to keep the speedometer from working.

what im saying is, the old motor in my trans am was equipped for my digital speedometer...the new 350 motor im putting in, came out of a car that wasnt digital, but the standard "needle" speedometer. How can I make it work with my digital speedometer?

The signal for the electronic speedometer comes off of the transmission. If all you are changing is the engine, the speedometer won't be affected.

Why do you think putting a 350 engine in is going to make the speedometer quit working? Are you using the ECM from the 350 car or something?

sorry I wasnt clear enough, I am only going by what the guys working on my car are telling me. lol. The transmission was changed as well, a 350 turbo trans. All I know is that they told me my digital speedometer wont work now, and they didnt know how to get it to work with this motor and trans. and that I might have to get a standard speedometer. Guess im just a dumb girl! lol:lala:
