I need Head(s)!!

Maybe the title will bring some attention to this thread...
Im looking to get a set of heads for my 305 (hold all dumb *** 350 comments) and i WAS looking at the SR heads, till they jacked up the price about $100 for the set. Its kinda forced me to look at other alternatives. I see this set of heads on ebay and they look very good. There rebuild 305 heads, with 3 valve job, new seals, bigger 1.94 valves and new 1.5 valve... well take a look for yourself. Check them out

do you think i would be better off dropping the extra money for SR heads, or are these pretty dam cool! or are there other alternatives? i know about the Alum Vette heads, but there rare to find a good set. thanks guys

S/R is stock replacement. No big deal.

I assume that you have 305 heads now, take them to a good local machine shop and spend a few bucks on them.

I would not trust machine work done by some guy on E-bay.

It would seem to me you'd be getting the same thing either way. I agree with Mandangelo. I would rather take my heads to a machine shop rather than chance it to Ebay.

these guys are right

those heads look nice...but it is some guy on ebay. you could probably take your heads to a good machine shop and get them ported and polished and all that good stuff. might could even do it a lot cheaper than buying those or new heads. ask your buddies around town where a good machine shop is if you dont know and at least get an estimate before you go and spend a lot more money on new heads. just my .02 good luck man!

As long as your car isn't TBI - Go to sears and buy a grinder and some carbide cutters. Then read sitting bulls posts.

Or if your car is TBI or you don't feel like taking the heads off and gringing on them.. Go to a salvage yards amd get some 305 heads. The good castings are 081 416 and 601. Then go to a machinist and get 'em cut for new valves and preformance springs. then Have fun.

GM performance also offers heads. You are on the right track. The heads are the key that will alow that 305 to make some respectable HP.
