new motor not lining up

hey guys i swaped in a 350 with th350 this weekend but
the car i got it from was a 69 elcamino and i took the motor mounts and frame mounts

for some reason i cannot get the frame and motor to line up
i need it to go about 1/2 inch back to fit just perfect

are there any ideas

i dont know if all frame mounts look like this but they have the extensions towards the front of the car, if i swap sides and turn them around would that work? or do those extensions have to fase the front???

you should be using the motor mounting system to match the car, not the parts from a donor car. is your problem getting the mounts to line up to get a bolt in or is the engine not going on the dowels for the transmission? if it's stuck on the dowels you can tighten the trans to engine bolts and pull it on the dowels. if it's just a matter of getting the 2 mount halves to fall in place try a big pry bar.

After 2 hours of fighting a 350 going into a Monte SS that had a 305, I realized the 305, and 350 clamshells are different. Do what ede said. Use all the existing Firebird mounting hardware.

What Turbo 350 mount are you using? I had a similar problem when I accidently used the wrong mount plate from the B&M turbo 350 swap kit for thirdgens. It did the same thing to me that you are saying.

i actually had no problems with reusing my 305 clamshells on my 400. everything bolted right up. actually bought the new poly ones, but the rest of the metal is the same.
