Removing a siezed Engine
I threw a Rod on my V6, and I want to do a Very easy swap to another v6 till I can afford my iroc
anyway, Its all siezed up, and the flywheel cannot rotate. We need to inorder to disconnect the tranny... I dont want to pull the tranny with it. My shop teacher told me a way that sounds wierd and I wanted to know if anyone else thought its a good Idea....
He said we could unbolt the 6 bell housing bolts and the engine mounts and whatever else on the engine, and then lift it just barely enough to get the engine over the steering, and then support the tranny with a jack, and lift engine, and slide it forward and the torque converter will just slide off the tranny and come out with the engine. It should spill ATF everywhere.
Does this sound like it will work to anyone else? My shop teacher is really smart, and he is sure it will be a good way.
Thanks for any opinions

So the torque converter just slides off easily? Or do I have to unbolt something there too?
Thanks!
Thanks!
