'85 TPI induction swap to 92' TBI Induction
Ok, My brothers ( onebinky) girlfriends 1985 Z28 has a 305 TBI, and the whole lower end has crapped out. He has offered me a reat trade, involving me aquiring a 1985 305 induction setup. If I recieve the wiring harness, air boxes, TPI induction, throttle cable, ya know, all the tpi stuff strictly with the tpi induction. Does the timing need to be changed, diffrent distrubetor, cam ( i have a 262H cam by comp cams i belive), or any pulleys? I basically am wondering what I should need to swap, to make my experience a fun one and succesful one.

Something's not right here. There wasn't any TBI in 1985. I'll assume fat-finger.
"All the TPI stuff" should include the distributor.
If I understand what you're trying to say, you're going to get the TPI setup off of the '85, and want to put it on your '92 TBI. From what I've heard, I wouldn't do it. '85 wasn't a stellar year for TPI, and what is really limiting your current engine are the cam (peanut), heads (swirl port), and exhaust (soda straw, as RB calls it). Fix those things, do some TBI work (throttle body upgrade, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and possibly PROM work - not sure about that, talk to the guys on the TBI forum), and you'll be much farther ahead than you would be just doing the TPI swap.

Well all I was doing is swapping the intake and the TPI over. I have already ported and polished my heads, intake TBI, 262H cam, headers, no cat, 3" exhaust, MSD everything, all that good stuff. That is about 260 hp and I want more. I was thinking of porting and polishing the runners and base and throttle bodie on the TPI setup. This should be a better setup, ya think. Should the 85 style intake bolt up? Is there any ignition problems? Anything I should know about? Thanks for any help.
