Cam question

Okay i decided on a cam for my 305, its the comp cams xe 262 cam but i was woundering what if i get the xe268 cam for it. what big difference will it give over the 262? if its not that big of a difference ill get the 268. im also lookin at the comp cams nitrous XE cams becuz i plan on running nitrous on my motor but not right this minuate but itsi n the near future so i plan on gettin this one to save me later.

also do u think the 268 has alot of lift? becuz im either gettin world products s/r tourqer heads and i tghink the max lift is .050 but i forget or im lookin for a set of alumin corvette heads and if i get those then ill throw stronger springs on there.

let me know what u guys think. also dont comment about me keepin the 305. im not lookin to go with a 350 or bigger just yet

i'd stay with the smaller 262 cam in the 305, the 268 won't idle real well in it, and if your going to be hitting the juice you might as well have it run nice on the street.

With nitrous, you don't need as big of a cam; you're not trying to get air to flow in there, instead you're basically dumping liquid oxygen into the motor. However.... the exhaust side is still important, because you can't bring in more of anything unless you can clear out whatever is already burned.

Look at the NX series... down at the bottom, the NX262.
