will my current Exhaust fit?

hey all im getting a smashed up 86 camaro with a 305 tpi to do an engine swap into my 86 2.8 firebird, the prob is that the camaro has no Exhaust will the birds Exhaust work with the bigger engine? i will get it upgraded later when i have some more money but will it work for now. oh yeh the birds Exhaust is a single to the muffler then with dual tips from that, thanks

The exhaust manifolds from the V6 won't fit the V8. Not sure about the y-pipe though.

well yeh i kinda figured that the 2.8s manifolds wouldnt fit but what about everything else?

I'm sure you could "alternate engineer" some means of connection between the motor and the little 6-cyl tubes. However, if you mean "will all my exhaust fit through that system", then no. You will have a tough time cramming 5 liters of exhaust through a system that chokes on 2.8 liters.

I would not spend money at the mufffler shop to half-*** it that way, as cheap as an entire cat-back exhausts are from Edelbrock or Blowmaster or Dynomax or Hooker etc. That would be using your own money as the ammunition to shoot yourself in the shorts with.

The bolt-on aftermarket exhaust systems out there (headers, y-pipe, cat, cat-back) for your donor car application is the one we "others" use to upgrade ours.
