I currently have a 91 Firebird with a 305 TBI in it. I'm looking to take a 350 TPI out of a thirdgen GTA and drop it in my firebird. My firebird is a 5 speed manual transmission so is that going to cause any problems? I know thirdgen's with 350 TPI's weren't offered in manuals so is it even possible to switch these engines and still keep my transmission? I don;t know alot about engines and all but hope to learn doing this swap. Any help you could give me on neccessary mods would be great (if this is even possible)! Thanx!!!

 

do a search and read all the posts, plenty of info, as well as tips from people who have done it......

The T-5 won't stay very long with a 350 TPI, that's why they never paired them from the factory, the T-5 couldn't handle the power from a 5.7 TPI....

 

The 5 speed will work if you know how to shift a transmission properly and without having your foot in the floor in 5th speed all the time.
