if you had $5500 for an engine/tranny
ok, if you were taking out the engine and tranny in your car, and you had $5000-$5500 to spend on a new engine and tranny, what would you do? i have a '92 V-6, and i have changed my mind on what to do with it probably 6 or 7 times. some examples:
1)buy junk engine and tranny and rebuild both 2)buy factory rebuilt engine and tranny 3)forget about engine/tranny for now since my current engine runs good, and work on the car's looks 4)sell the car and buy another one with at least a 350 in it
so my car's for sale, and if it reaches a certain price i'll sell it and be buying another one. but now i've got my mind set on a new engine and tranny again. so.....if you were pulling out your engine and tranny, and had $5000-5500 to spend on it (keep in mind that any engine accessories that won't swap over from a v-6 would have to be bought, and installation costs for the tranny (but not the engine)) what would you do?
i got all these thoughts in my head about my car, but so far nothing stands out over the rest, so i need some persuasion...let's hear what you'd do

#4. Without a doubt.
Take the proceeds, add to the $5k, buy a factory V8 car with the induction/transmision you want, use the leftover for a new engine.

oh, sorry shoulda specified....$5000-$5500 is what i'd have if i sold my car, and bought another one that was in good shape with body/interior, but junked engine/tranny that needed to be worked on. if i sell my car i'll have $6000. i could buy a v-8, and just swap the engine, but chances are, if the engine needs to be swapped, the tranny does as well. a good condition z28 with 80K or so mileage will cost me the whole $6000, so that's why i was thinking about buyin a car in need of a swapping

That fits. Buy one that has the induction/transmission you want, spend the leftover on a new/rebuilt engine/transmission.

Believe me...as a veteran of doing a v6 to v8 swap....buy the v8 car up front....that is why I bought my GTA...even though it had a bad 350....the car is set up for the v8 and it had the ws6 suspension....
