If I had the time (and the knowhow) I'd swap my 305 for an LS1 getting started asap. But I hate to ask but anyone know of shops that specialize in 350 swaps? The car is my daily, and a week or two of down time is enough for a professional, but not for me. Anyone help out?

if you have a weekend free and the knowhow its not to hard to do it in 4 days, thats about how much time It took me of constant work but I stretched mine over 2 weeks.

thats why i spread it out over 2 weeks. I ended up renting the equipment I needed and making a trip to the parts store everynight. people here helped me a lot. since basically the essential piece of mine was i just had to change the actual motor everything p lugged back into the place that I had it.

are there different swaps with more compability than others i.e. difficulty and extra accessories to make it work out.

You probabbly want to get something very very simular to what you have now but only difference is the inside of the engine.

like if you have fuel injection get same type of injection so the wiring is all the same.

one thing I ran into trouble was the right flywheel for my starter to fit my new crank, that was the only thing that held me up.

but I had a 4 barrel carbed 305 that I took the carb off and put onto my new 350, the exhaust, the wiring, the motormounts, everything is the same.

biggest thing I was told is to use the wiring you have if you can.

right, right...ok so for my skill level its best to use an engine that is more similar to my own than anything...and the best place to find one like this is goodwrench right? kinda? I know they build engines like that but then again they say that they arent emission legal...

you can ask them what type of things youd have to adapt to your car if you buy it from them. but My engine has 0 pollution control as it is, but I have someone that will pass me up here in NY without a second thought.
