C100 and the LT1

There is a lot of information out there on this, however, no one said what they actually did.
What I am guessing is going on, after staring at diagrams for a while is that the C100 connector is on the thirdgen, and there is a connector off the harness that goes to an under-hood fusebox, and that rather than getting that fusebox, people are instead hacking the lines off the LT1 harness into the C100. Am I right? Do I not need the underhood fusebox?
Thanks
Corry

I hacked everything into it and eliminated the under hood fuse box. I do have some fuses though as I used a Painless harness.

do I need any extra fuses, or will the motor run just by splicing into the C100 connector?

The c100 connector has all the connections for the accesories and a few of the gauges. The only one necessary for the car to run here is the purple cranking wire that must go down to the starter solenoid. All your gauges will be here except for fuel and speedo.

I was concerned about fuses for the injectors/etc

Those were part of my Painless harness but you'll have to use the original fuse box for those.
