That's What I Have....
Hey Bro....
I installed a 454 into my 86 IROC, and to be quite honest with you, other than upgrading the drivetrain (for the increased torque), it's really a rather simple swap....
Of course the stock ECM and it's sensors have no more say in how it runs, the only 'real' concern's are cooling, and exhaust (this is if you don't beat on it, or else you DESTROY the stock transmission)!
Hooker Headers Part# HOK-2226 (they also make the necessary Y-Pipe, but I don't recall the Part#)
Go with a nice aftermarket radiator, I run with a Griffin.
Another good idea (for added clearance), lose you're A/C (if equipped), and swap you're A/C blower casing for a non-AC blower casing (there MUCH smaller, andprovided the necessary room for torquing down the head bolts). If you're installing the motor with the heads installed, the replacement blower cover also helps with the installation of the headers...
BTW... they make small blocks now displacing 454 cubes, just a thought!

Dude.... you're only running low 12's with that kind of torque????
Are you running on stock tires? You should EASILY be in mid 11's.....
