how much should i sell my 305 for?

Ya... i can get a better 305, with cam rollers and some other stuff, carb, and it's HO... for 200 bucks... the guy replaced his engine w/ a 383, and just doesn't want the engine...how much should i sell my stock 305 for?

i'm thinking 300-500? 150,000 miles & runs perfectly. fuel injection, TPI.

When I did my swap, I couldn't give my stock 305 away.

A better question would be, "How much will I have to pay somebody to come out and haul this thing off?"

Seriously, you might try the classifieds; somebody might possibly maybe be willing to come pick it up. You might be able to sell the heads by themselves (shipping being cheaper they don't come with the extra dead weight of a 305 block) for as much as $50. But I can't feature selling a whole 305. That's fantasy land.

where are you located and how well does it run?

my local junk yards sell 305's with around 75,000mi for $300 - $425 FI or Carb.

Put it in the paper as a Camaro/Firebird engine as a 5 Liter (not as 305)... 305 just won't bring people like 5L will, lol, even though they are the same.

I beleive you're talking about selling the whole 305 including the TPI parts. If so you can get $400-700 just for the EFI stuff. Few would pay for the shortblock 305 but the induction parts are still very desirable.

Honestly I think you will get more and have much better luck not trying to sell it on the boards. Put it in your local free classified paper... As a camaro/firebird 5.0 like mentoned before and you will get people calling left and right looking for an engine for their el camino's, etc...

With the consensus on here being that 305's are bad, you won't be able to get that much for it on here, but locally will be a different story.
