i've got the 274 myself...
It's very streetable. Buuut..
You need the compression to support it, the intake and exhaust to support it.... a small converter, and eliminate as many unused accesories as you can.
I'm running a 9.5" 3300 stall converter, and accesories are waterpump, and alternator... like that it pulls 15" of vacuum and has very nice street manners...
behind a full set of accessories, and a full size converter i have a feeling it would be unhappy.

I've got 11:1 according to a compression calculator, I'm running domed pistons.....I figure I'll lose close to half a point of compression....so I should be around 10.5:1.....I have protopline vortecs...I'll be running AC, waterpump, and alternator.....
I'm hoping for 350HP at this point....I'd like to think I could hit 13's with that and a good stall
