What price should I expect...
Guy I know wants to buy the 305 out of my car for one of his project cars. I have no idea what the going price is for a good running 305 engine hehe. It probably only has about 16,000 miles on the engine, runs great and would have no problem taking a drive back east and back. We haven't talked about a price yet so anyone have an idea of what the going rate is? Thanks.

what all are you giving him, short block, long block, etc. If its just the short block .30 over I would say about $250. good luck.

He'll be getting a long block. Actually could put a performer intake on there but doubt that'll up the price any lol... I was thinking about $250 also. Just seems low for a good running engine

Yep you gotta hate those engines, The L03 that was originally in my car had 30,000 miles on it and was bored and strocked to a 310 and had ported Lb9 heads , I tried to sell it for $300 long block and never did sell it I still have the damn thing in my garage, I am just saving it for the day that something goes wrong with my current engine. Has the guy made you any offers? If your giving him a long block I say tell him $400 and work your way down if he isnt satisfied, go no lower than $250. What are you planning to put in its place, I am just curious.Good luck.

We haven't discussed anything about how much yet. I started it up and ran it for him one day and he just stopped by yesterday asking when the new engine is going in. Might have to give him a call soon
355 is going in it's place that should be making close to 500 hp then later on I'll be adding a NOS cheater setup and work my way up to the 250 shot. I gotta get money up for the machine shop costs and soon as the 355 is back, it's going in the car. Almost ready to pull this 305 out and let the car sit till the new engine is ready. That would get my **** in gear to get things done quicker
Just hate to park it cause it's fun to drive.
