LO3 toL98 shortblock swap, flexplate ?

I did some searches on flex plates and am now confused. Can I re-use my L03 flexplate and harmonic balancer on a L98 motor. I have heard it both ways. Oil pan and the timing cover the same ?

Yep, should be the same. The flexplate/balancer are internal balance on both motors. I'm not quite sure about the pan, but it should be the same. Timing cover is definitely the same, except for possible the timing mark, but that can be solved with some timing tape or a new timing pointer from Summit.

The shortblocks are identical. Flexplates are identical. Tin is identical.

You should be in good shape.

Actually, 1 pc rear main seal cranks are externally balanced from the flywheel/flexplate.
