Has anybody ran this cam in a carbureted 350? It has some pretty healthy specs. but is on a 112 lobe sep. I am wondering how the drivability is.

edlebrock makes the worst cames

they only have about 5 different choices

i know of only 1 person on this board running an edlebrock cam and his car runs 16's

i'd stay away, BUT, thats just me

I have ran their regular RPM (flat tappet) cam in other cars before and it absolutely rocked! It was incredibly responsive and had great mid-range. The Hyd. Roller version is a little more aggressive (probably because it is a roller) and I was just curious if anyone has actually used and how it worked.

i'm sure the streetabitily is OK with it, but i dont think it will give the best bang for the buck

i am sure a similar crane/ comp cam will give the same manners and better performance

They dont make their own cams. I'd go with someone else, their cams are 'old school'.

Do you all have any experience with Comp Cams XR276HR-12 ?
This was my more conservative option.
This is going in a Vortec headed 355 (10:1) with an RPM Air Gap intake.

Thanks in advance!

I have almost exactly the same cam, its pretty responsive. If I could get the car running optimal and get it to hook up, it'd be somewhere in the mid 12's. Could be more or less depending on the heads on your app.

The Vortecs, RPM and 274 (in this case 276) is a proven combo for an easy 420hp.

Edelbrock uses old grinds, whereas Comp and Crane use new technology to get the valves open faster and have more area "under the curve" that in turn will produce more power than the old school cams will. That and they're rediculously over priced. The same cams can be bought from summit for $80 (CL kit).

Thanks for the replies! I ended up buying the XR276HR-12 cam. I'll let you all know how it goes. The engine should be in the car by New Years.
