Engine Swap Question..........
Engine Swap Question..........
Do I need to do anything to the registration if i place a new engine in the car? Or carry the VIN number for the engine?? So that way they can easily tell it hasn't been stolen??
Just wondering.........
Thanks

I was thinking the same thing. I am swapping in the sdpc tpi vortec (so far I think that's the one) and I thought about the VIN and crap for emissions testing. I'll be running the test, but might not pass b/c the VIN is for a 3.1 mpfi.

My cousin's former 4 cylinder Jeep went right through emissions with a Chevy 350 in it, so I don't think your emissions will be a problem as long as the motor is tuned right. These cars are old enough that the standards aren't real tough to achieve.
As for the VIN stuff. Just keep your existing VIN, and for Gods sake don't tell your insurance company or they will slap you with a higher premium.
