OBD1 or OBD2?
The computer for my LT1 is from a '96, so is the engine. I'm in the process of planning my LT1 buildup. Would it be worth it to leave it OBD2? That way I could hook up the tech 2 to it.....or would OBD1 be a much better way to go?

Well if you keep it stock OBDII is easier to diagnose and won't cause any problems. If you go with OBDI it is more responsive to mods and only requires 2 O2 sensors. However you can delete the rear O2's with OBDII. There are a few other things but I can't remember off hand. Generally OBDI is more preferable.

Is the Tech 2 the GM diagnostics and programming tool? If so, and if you have access to one is OBD I still preferred? I thought you could make the same modes in OBD II as OBD I it was just more difficult unless you had something like the Tech 2. Is this true or not?

you can still use the TECH 2 with OBD 1.....................
OBD 2 is alot more sensitive, but might be worth it because it will point closer to where a problem is
depends on how much you are modding the engine
