350 GoodWrench...how much power..?
How much power does anyone think we could get outta this engine... I was figuring I could get maybe 340 horse outta this (Flywheel)
I think that this would be a great motor to build for my car even though I've already built an 305...that was very nice but my wifes 92- K1500's motor blew and I'll be putting the 305 motor in her truck....which is carburated......
anyhow I was thinking buying the 350 gm goodwrench in from jegs which is 260 hp and 350 for torque...and putting World Products Sportsman II's on it, with an Comp Cam 270H/R (Hydraulic Roller), without any modifications to the TPI unit..I figure I could get like 340-350 horse with this, the engine stock comes with a low compression but with the Sportsman II's I could get maybe a 9.3 cr because of the 64cc chambers....does anyone have a similar setup or could back my claims up?Dyno numbers? anything would be appreciated I'd be saving about 2200 for this motor....

I just build that same motor in school. With a cam similar to yours, stock heads, single plane intake, and 650 carb we got 310hp and 310 torque. 100 shot of nitrous and we 400+ torque and horse.

You'll be lucky to hit 275 HP gross at the flywheel with unmodified TPI. It'll kill any power the cam is trying to make above 5000 RPMs.

so so your telling me that bumping up the compression to around 9.3-9.6 and adding a hydraulic roller setup with a large cam that it'll only make 15 more horse than stock

you have to be a liar 5.7 kid because I've gotten a 305 to 306 hp.......if you've read my 305 post.....ok so lets say i modify the TPI maybe some siamesed runners and a larger throttle body and maybe porting the plenum too...then your saying I'll be making what 278 hp..??? I've done my homework and have also done work in shops for the past 2 years.....SuperChevy.com got almost 400 HP outta this block with only vortec heads and a smaller cam the TPI unit is capable of turning close to 1000cfm.....the carb on that 400 hp was a 750 cfm.... I believe with proper tuning of tps,o2,computer.....at least 360 hp is able to be maintained on a stock TPI unit....those are flywheel numbers

the stock heads on that 350 goodwrench are 76cc which gives a compression ratio of 8.5:1.....the 64 cc heads (Sportsman II) will give it roughly 9.3:1/9.6:1 cr.....with a higher cr ratio that yields any mods given to the engine more potent due to higher cylinder velocitys.....the Cam I've chosen is a radical cam Comp Cams for any TPI unit if u want the exact pn which is CS 264H-R12...from comp it's .480/.480 for with a 210/220 and an lash of 112....why would'nt this intake be able to handle it? do u have experience in this

A 350 has larger cylinders and draws more air. five7kid knows what he is talking about, calling him a liar only hurts your chances of getting an answer from anyone.
That being said, look into shaver racing head's pro lightnings, and a comp XE 274. Then get a holley stealthram base and fuel rails. You will have an engine producing about 400hp and 400lbs of torque.
A better choice since you are swapping heads and cam anyhow would be an L98 shortblock from www.sdpc2000.com its about 1200 bucks. Get everything above but use a LT4 cam instead.
You are going to need to burn chips for any of these combos.
