Intake options for LT1?
I'm getting close to 'The time' where the old L03 goes and the LT1 goes in. I've already got ann LT1 intake, but I was looking into seeing if there were any other intake choices for the LT1? I know there are the:
carburated intake,
LT1 intake,
LT4 intake,
In Lingenfelter's book he used a Super Ram on an LT1. Does anyone know how these different intakes affect low range street driving?

LT4 intake is the exact samething as the LT1 intake, it just has different bolt patterns to fit the Lt4 heads. As far as options....*shrug* im not sure if they make a stealth ram or something similar for Lt1's. Im just going to be using the stock intake.

I was under the impression that the bolt pattern was the same, but the port height was different. I believe the stock and LT4 are the only options.

The stock LT1 intake is what you want, you could bolt on a LT4 intake without the LT4 heads, you'd probably see a power loss if not leaks from the mismatched port alignment, there is no need for an upgraded intake manifold the stock one can be reworked for more power than you've got money for, edelbrock tried making one a long time ago but it didnt prove very useful.

The ports are different; the LT4 ports are a bit higher / taller.

not entirely man. LT4 heads are a completely different angle. The same angle as GM Fasterburn Heads. In order to use fast burns on the lt4 you gotta redo the bolt patter though. You can never get an LT4 to fit on Lt1 heads. Sorry but you just cant.

Looks to me that they are at the same angle LT1 bolts are.
last time I checked, Fast Burns were double drilled for
- Vortec pattern which is 8 bolts oriented vertically
- and
- Gen I 86-down pattern, which is 12 bolts oriented perpendicular (90 degrees) to the cylinder head / intake mating surface
Are you saying you can use the Fast Burn heads on an LT4 block? I'm not sure if you mean that (which doesn't work due to cooling passage differences) or what. But you might want to quit reading Millicans spew and misinterpreting it.

d00d its like the difference between vortec and regular small block heads. Thats plain and simple.
No i was saying that the LT4 can fit on the fast burns. I know about reverse cooling and the fast burns dont do that. I was saying that as an example man.

LT4 intakes can be modified to work on a set of LT1 heads, it does take some port work, and isnt worth it, but dont say i'll never work.
