Motor mounts?

When we swapped my engine into my car (V8 into a V6 car berlinetta.) it appeared there was a set of bolt holes for mounts placed more towards the front of the car, we used the mounts from an old suburban... anyways long storey short, I can't even bolt the hood back on the car, and Im beginning to suspect that this wasn't the correct way to put a V8 into the car.

Which makes me think that when I pull the motor again I should do something about this, so: what exactly do I need to do?

Thanks a lot for any help.

I doubt that's the problem.

What is the hood hitting? What intake manifold/carb/air cleaner are you using?

just an edlelbrock rpm (approx the same hieght as stock) and the stock carb. (and by stock I mean stock for the 350 thats in the car, being out of a 1983 3/4 truck... with 194 heads.)
