I have a 89 Silverado 4X4 with a 305 TBI. I removed it and put in a 350 crate motor from advance. The truck will run, but I am experiencing hesitation,backfire like symptoms. The motor when acelerated, just dies. What is the missing link. I was told there was no problem swapping. I would appreciate any help. Thanks Jim

 

Is your chip tuned for the new engine?

 

Did you replace the stock computer with one from another 350?

 

Did you use 350 or 305 injectors?

 

I did not swap anything but the block and internal parts. No computer or TBI parts. Is this my problem? Thanks Jim

 

You need a new prom and 350 knock sensor and a few other things. A quick search about 350TBI swaping in the TBI board should give you all the details.
