LT1 computer not getting power

* I meant *NOT* getting power*

Ok here is the deal, I got a 91 v6 camaro im throwing a 95 OBD1 LT1 PCM into (of course engine too) . I have triple checked the grounds and the grounds are good. I have the PINK ignition wire coming from the thirdgen bulkhead on the firewall going to the LT1 coil PINK wire.

Now when i turn the key I get power, my volatage meter calibrates and goes to the voltage, tach needle moves into place so power is going inside. Security light turns on, then off shortly after (Its bypassed under the wheel on the old module using as resistor).

I got pin 31 and 15 on the corresponding LT1 PCM going straight to the power distribution block as it should be.

I have check all fuses and none are burnt out. Now when I turn the key, my fuel pump does not prime, I don't even hear it turn on, now I know that is partly because of vats, however I cannot program the PCM using tuner cat. I have the serial and ground ports from the ALDL straight to the corresponding plug on the PCM wiring plug. No middleman's there, it is a straight through wire.

But I get cable failure, could not communicate with PCM with tunercat. Now I know for a fact my cable is good because i've played with Craig moates software and my own plenty of times. I know the cable is no different than what is needed for a fourth gen car because its the same connector.

The only thing I can conclude is my PCM is not getting power and I cannot figure out why this is, can anybody clue me in on this? Thanks.

I believe my harness has an orange wire (12 guage I believe) coming from the LT1 fuse block which connects to the firewall connector.

I had to run a switched a power source to it before I got power to my PCM.

I just did some work on a 88 harness, there is a orange wire coming out of the third gen firewall connector(near brake booster) that is switched power, use that

pretty much all the powers and grounds, along with gauge and ALDL wire colors are the same, if not, they are all there

Thanks, I got it fixed earlier tonight with the help of Texas LT1, I just cut both wires from the pcm for ignition feed twisted them together and spliced into the coil ignition feed. Already programmed VATs out of the PCM . Thanks guys.

Go to AKM cables website, dig around a little and you'll find instructions on how to program the pcm out of the car on a bench with a power supply. it tells you exactly what needs power and ground to get the PCM to talk to tunercat.

I f'd my pcm a few days ago, it lost communication durning a flash and now it don't communicate at all. I'm sending it out to a guy who will not only fix it but put the memory chips in sockets instead of soldering them right to the pc board so if it happens again I can just swap the chips.

I just got done moving my in-laws 1100 miles. Now I'm home so it's time to get back to work. I just need to cut off the mounts I used for the tow bar when I dragged this car down here from NY and then I need to put the nose back on and do something with the interior.

The rear axle is a little noisy, I read some 9 bolts do that but I guess I'll check the pinion and make sure it isn't loose. The car hauls ***!
