Car: 89 formula and my late 86 iroc R.I.P girl
Engine: 89 firebird formula-305 tbi,86 iroc 305 tpi
Transmission: both 700r4
need help on my first tbi to tpi swap
im swapping a 305 TPI from a 86 iroc into my 89 formula with a 305 TBI. what i need to know is can the wiring harness from my camaro go in my firebird problem free? and do i have to swap the fuse panels. or and thing else from behind the dash? (besides the ecm) and is the cams ecm compatible with the birds

It may or may not require pin moves on the connectors, check the wiring diagrams for the '86 and '89 to see if all the pins are in the same place.
When I swapped '88 TPI into my '82 chassis, I had to move at least 6 pins between the two connectors (C100 at the firewall, C207 under the passenger side dash).
If you don't have Helms manuals for both cars, start digging here and on the Web, you might get lucky. I bought the '88 Helms because it was cheaper than buying a new harness.
